MISSION & INTRODUCTION

Flag Football Mission

Cary Junior Trojan Flag football program is the foundation of learning and developing motor and key fundamental skills for young children.  It will teach them to follow basic direction, communicate, and interact with their teammates and coaches.  Fair play and good sportsmanship will promote an environment that allows all to enjoy the game of football. Coaches will ensure that each and every player will receive equitable treatment including full and equal participation.  The flag program is the stepping stone for the children to grow in life skills and within the Cary football program.

Introduction

The Cary Jr. Trojan Flag Football Program is designed to teach young athletes, ages 5-10, the game of football. They will be taught the skills, fundamentals, and terminology of Cary-Grove football to prepare them for transitioning to our Cary Junior Trojan Tackle Program if and when both the athlete and parents are ready. Players are given the chance to learn various positions on offense and defense as well as learn commonly used football terminology.

Games are played every Saturday from late August to late October. There is the chance of Sunday games later in the season. Practices begin in late July and typically occur at Deer Path Elementary. Home games occur behind Cary Junior High. Participating programs are Prairie Ridge, Algonquin, Wauconda, and Marian Central Catholic. Jersey and flags are included with registration.
