Practice

Practices are held locally in the Cary/Fox River Grove/Crystal Lake area.  Days and times are chosen by the Directors based on availability of practice and the number of poms teams. Coaches will communicate the practice schedule to teams before our season begins.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade Poms - practice 1 day a week for 45 minutes from August – October.

2nd – 8th Grade - teams will generally practice 2 days a week.  Duration will vary based on grade level. An additional mandatory practice will be scheduled the week of competition.

 

Performances

Kindergarten & 1st grade Poms - Perform at home flag football games on Saturdays with their final performance on CJT Family Performance Night. Practices are once a week.  Season starts July 31st and will go through mid October (approx. 12 weeks).

 

2nd Grade - Perform at home flag or tackle football games on the weekends from August - October. This team will participate in CJT Family Performance Night and the Pop Warner Chicagoland Conference Competition. Practices will be twice a week and season will end with the Conference competition held at the end of October.

 

3rd - 6th Grade - Perform at home tackle football games on the weekends from August - October.  Teams will participate in CJT Family Performance Night, Pop Warner Chicagoland Conference Competition and Mid America Regionals competition.  Practices are twice per week with mandatory additional practices held during competition weeks. The season will end in mid November.

 

7th/8th Grade - Perform at home tackle football games on the weekends from August - October.  Team will participate in CJT Family Performance Night, Pop Warner Chicagoland Conference Competition and Mid America Regionals competition.  Practices are twice per week with mandatory additional practices held during competition weeks.  This team will travel to the National Pop Warner Championship Competition held in Orlando, FL in early December.

 

Competitions

For 2024, CJT Poms will participate in Pop Warner dance competitions.

2nd Grade Poms - teams will compete in 1 local Pop Warner competition at the end of October.

3rd – 8th Grade Poms - teams will participate in 2 local Pop Warner competitions at the end of October and mid-November.

7th – 8th Grade - teams will be travel which means they could qualify for the Pop Warner National Competition held in Orlando, FL in December.

Please note: Game Day Uniforms and Competition costumes are not included in the registration fee.
